Robertson was first selected to play Clare Arnold, a series regular on Fox's teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1994. The show starred her from 1994 to 1997, during the four-to-seven-week season. In 1997, her former boyfriend, director Gregg Araki cast her as Lucifer as one of a group of bored, disengaged, and very horny Los Angeles teens in the movie "nowhere," a black comedy. Later, she was cast in Splendor (1999), his second film. Robertson has also been in many films in her career. She starred opposite Luke Wilson in the romantic comedy Dog Park (1998). Sally Field directed Beautiful (2000) and Scary Movie 2 (2001). Later, she had more serious roles in the independent drama film XX/XY, starring Mark Ruffle. In 2006, she was in Hollywood as well as with Adrien Brody. She was the lead role in The Business, a Canadian comedy series. She starred as Tin Man, the main antagonist in the Syfy miniseries Tin Man.
