Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was born in Ottawa, Ontario
Canada on 27 August 1976. Her parents are Angie Chalke and Doug Chalke. She is
the middle of two sisters, one older, Natasha Chalke, one younger, Piper
Chalke. Sarah's first acting role was in City Boy (1992), a movie made for TV.
After her first movie, Sarah auditioned for the role of Becky on Roseanne
(1988) in 1993. The show was in search of the replacement for Alicia Goranson,
who left the show in order to attend college. Sarah graduated from high school
in the year 1995, while filming the 1994-1995 season of Roseanne (1988). In
1994, Sarah starred alongside Jim Varney in Ernest Goes to School (1994). She
also appeared in Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand against Fear(1996). In both
films Sarah played the role of Krista Wilson as the cheerleader. Sarah was
invited to appear in a television series named Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy
(1998) the same year following Roseanne (1988). Based on the show Nothing Too
Good For a Cowboy (1998) which the show was also based. Sarah replaced Becky's
(1988) role from Alicia Goranson. The actress said she'd like to take a break
from acting and go to college. [2001] (1993-1997) Was the as the older sister
of Sara Gilbert on Roseanne (1988) However, she's more youthful in real life.
Participated in the 1999 CCMA Award Ceremony where she received an award for
the best single of the year. (September 1999) At the age of 8 appeared in
Vancouver stage productions. She is fluent in French, German and Spanish. She
is a volunteer for a hospice that cares for seriously ill children. Chalke
enjoys cooking with friends (especially Thai or sushi) as well as play guitar,
hike, ski (she's an instructor), and kayaking. Her father is an attorney and
both parents operate a child-adoption agency. Her parents took her to China in
order to facilitate the adoptions of multiple orphans.
