Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who worked previously as TV correspondent for ABC News. She is known for her
tenure as co-anchor of Good Morning America Weekend from 2014 to 2018 as well
as hosting The View from 2015 to 2018. She was also co-anchor on America This
Morning as well as World News Now. After graduating, she worked in several
communications-related jobs including an operations position at Mills/James
Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Because of the lack of opportunities on
television, she was offered an opening as an agent for radio sales. After a
year of working as a production assistant with WKEF/WRGT, she eventually was
capable of reporting and anchoring on occasion. Between 2002 and 2005, she was
the weekend sports anchor and sports anchor on weekdays at WPO-TV in
Cincinnati. She was hired as a sports journalist for the NBC's Chicago
affiliate WMAQ-TV from November 2005 to December 2011 after her contract had
expired. She was recruited by ABC News' news division in December 2011. The first
time she appeared on ABC News for their World News Now and America This Morning
on January 2 2012. In this period, she appeared as a fill-in on Good Morning
America as well as a correspondent. In the following years she was made a New
York-based correspondent on all ABC News programs. She was the host of America
This Morning and World News Now's last episode on January 22nd 2013. On
September 9, 2014, she made her debut as co-anchor of Good Morning America
Weekend, following the departure of Bianna Golodryga. Golodryga moved to Yahoo!
News. ABC announced that she would join The View as a cohost for season 19. Her
contract was renewed by ABC to run its 20th season on August 3. Season 21 was
also renewed, with co-hosting duties. She was the most prominent during the
21st and 22nd seasons of the series.
