Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was born in Los Angeles,
California, the younger daughter of media mogul, producer and musician Quincy
Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. She has an older sister, Kidada Jones, as well
as five half-siblings inherited from the relationships of her father's previous
relationships. Her father is African-American and her mother is Ashkenazi
Jewish (a descendant from emigrants to Russia and Latvia). Rashida was raised
Reform Judaism. She was born in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California. Jones said
that Jones her parents of mixed race weren't acceptable to her during the
1970s. Jones began her professional acting debut in The Last Don, a mini-series
from 1997 based upon the novel by Mario Puzo. Rashida was also a Harvard
University graduate in 1997. She was a student at the Buckley School in Sherman
Oaks (California). The school awarded her the most likely to succeed. Arabic
(O+ O'UO-O(c) (her name) signifies "Major," adult, wise, mature or

tribute song to Tupac Shakur who was married to her sister, Kidada Jones.
Rashida and Kidada's brother Quincy Jones III produced the song, and their
father, Quincy Jones, made an appearance , reciting the lyrics from Shakur's
poem "Starry Night" in the intro. The song's title was inspired by
the poem. Rashida is African-American and has less English, Scottish, or Welsh
heritage than his mother (some of his African ancestors came from the Tikar
tribe of Cameroon). Rashida is Ashkenazi Jewish, of Russian Jewish and Latvian
Jewish descent. Her paternal grandparents came of South Carolina and
Mississippi, respectively. Her maternal grandfather is from New York and her
maternal grandmother who is of Eastern European Jewish descent, was born in
Dublin, Ireland. Since the end of 2009, she has appeared in three different
characters using the name "Karen" on classic cult television comedies
(Freaks and Geeks (1999), Stella (2005) and The Office (2005)).
