Maureen O'Hara Biography

Maureen O'Hara, an American actress and singer from Irish origin was a well-known celebrity. The fiery, passionate role she played in several American film productions was the reason that attracted attention to the beautiful green eyed beauty. Her beautiful appearance and natural beauty were well-received. She was known in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her screen appearances were a reflection of her brave, strong character. She fought for respect and survival in the male-dominated world. She always called herself the "tough Irish lass" who will never sacrifice her honor and status in order to secure the roles she wanted through merit. She was a vocal supporter of women's roles in film and television, and gained many followers in the process. The autobiography 'Tis Herself', written by her', published in 2004, gave an honest and authentic description of her life's experiences, including the struggle to climb the ladder to success. She was an adventurous woman who was not afraid to attempt herself at her own tricks. She was a part of more than 60 films and was a well-known actor across the world. After leaving Parra and her husband, she got married to Charles F. Blair Jr. in 1968. Blair was a former brigadier and chief pilot and was the first transatlantic pilot to be a pioneer. In the early years of their marriage, O'Hara decided to take a break from her career. The joy she felt was only temporary when Blair died in a tragic plane crash in the year 1978. In the same year, she was also diagnosed as suffering from uterine cancer and required to undergo urgent surgery. She was recovered. The following years her health began to decline and she was diagnosed with six heart attacks, memory loss in the short term and diabetes mellitus type 2. O'Hara, at 95 years of age, died peacefully in Boise (Idaho) on the 24th of October 2015.
