Padma Lakshmi Bio
Padma Parvati Lakshmi was born on September 1, 1970, in Chennai, India. Her parents divorced at the age two. To avoid the stigma associated with divorce in India, her mother moved to the United States. Lakshmi stayed with her grandparents from Chennai for two years prior to moving to the United States. Her parents later remarried and she also has a younger half-brother as well as a half-sister on her father's side. Lakshmi is a woman who shares her last name with the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity, grew up first in New York and then in Los Angeles with her mother and stepfather. Her family visited her in India often throughout the year, and then returned for several months. Padma Lakshmi first became interested in acting around the time of 1999. Her first movie role was in Figlio di Sandokan (an Italian pirate film). Next she was given the role of "Caraibi" (Pirates: Blood Brothers) that is a drama about 17th-century pirates. Also, she hosted Italy's top-rated TV show "Domenica In.' In 2001, she played a comical part as a disco-singing singer in 'Glitter', an American movie. Padma has a daughter with Adam Dell (a venture capitalist). Krishna was born on February 20, 2010. She also got married to Teddy Forstmann who is the former CEO and chairman of IMG. Lakshmi is currently in a relationship with American venture capitalist Adam Dell. They share one daughter named Krishna. Though she originally did not reveal the identity of the child's father from the public, Lakshmi later revealed him to be Dell. The daughter of Dell, she said, "Everything's better with her around." "Anything from the start of the day till the time of closing. I'm not sure I have an interest in anything other apart from her.
