Jacqueline Fernandez (born 11 August 1985) is a Sri Lankan actress, former model, and the winner of the Miss Universe Sri Lanka pageant in 2006. She is a model and actress who primarily works in Hindi films. Jacqueline Fernandez was raised in multi-ethnic families and was born in Manama (Bahrain) on 11 August 1985. Her father, Elroy Fernandez from Sri Lanka is a Burgher. Kim Fernandez is of Malaysian origin and Canadian descent. Her paternal grandfather is Canadian, and her paternal great grandparents come from Goa, India. Fernandez was in the music video for "O Sathi" which is a hit song from the duo Bathiya & Santhush. Fernandez traveled to India in 2009 for a modeling assignment. Fernandez auditioned successfully for Sujoy Ghosh’s fantasy film Aladin (2009) the film that was her first acting role. She played Riteish Deshmukh's love-interest, which is based off Princess Jasmine's character. In 2017, Fernandez invested 35 million rupees (US$490,000) in Rakyan Beverages' Raw Pressery. Fernandez was ranked 12th in the UK magazine Eastern Eye's "World's Sexiest Asian Women" list in 2008 and 2011. She was ranked 3rd on the Times of India's listing of the "Most Attractive Woman" in 2013 and 2014, after being ranked eighth, seventh and 14th, respectively, in the preceding three years. In 2013, Rediff.com placed her on their list of "Bollywood's most stylish actresses. According to the website, Fernandez is India's first star to have part-financed an enterprise that sells consumer goods with this investment.
